IN FASHION GRUNGE BY LEA FITERMAN
The French expression “broyer du noir” (literally translated to crushing black) means being melancholic, depressed, having dark thoughts. In the beginning this expression was used by painters who were crushing pigments to make paint. By replacing pigments with the photosensitive layer of the film which is scratched, I portrait this expression by giving a tormented aspect to the pictures.
